Wonderful things to share
A brain (and little black book) dump full of lovely, useful things

This week has been one of planning. And organising. And trying to spend a little less time worrying and more time indulging in quiet moments filled with soul-nourishing books and films and things that generally make me feel a bit brighter. (This is a British thing by the way…faux depression until the first daffodils raise their heads in March. So word to the wise: don’t plan a ‘fun’ night out with a Brit until after ‘daylight savings’ have come and gone. )
So anyway, here are some things that are cheering me up immensely- some travel bits, a great book, events to plan ahead for. Enjoy!

Something to plan for…
If you’re a flower nut like me then I think a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Keunkenhof 40 minutes outside Amsterdam is a must. Here you’ll find fields and fields of dazzling tulips. There are lots pf photo opps sure, but also a great chance to figure out what tulips you want to order for next year. Anyway, the point is I’m going and I cannot wait. I’ve been researching it for months and you don’t need a fancy/expensive tour guide either as it appears, which has always put me off in the past. You just hop on this bus and off you go. See you there with the other 1 million tulip freaks.
Skin Transformer
I have been wearing the same foundation for years. Maybe even a decade. (Bobbi Brown’s Weightless Skin Foundation, if you should know). But nowadays the colours don’t work and the formula sits a little heavy on my skin. So last weekend I ventured out of my ‘zone’ and got a proper consultation at somewhere new: Nars. I have always been skeptical of make-up consultations, imagining it’s just a ruse to push a load of random make-up items on you. But the woman (Lucy, I think she is called and she works from Harrods in case you are interested) was a complete genius and sent me packing with a foundation that I am now OBSESSED with. It’s their Light Reflecting Foundation and it makes me look as though I’ve stepped out of a jar of Vaseline. (In a good way- all glossy and fresh and not overly ‘made up; which I hate.) So anyway, I thought I should pass on the message. Very good foundation indeed.
A heart-stealer for your wardrobe
Found this late last night and had to share- a super useful denim jacket that is unfathomably 60% off! I know. Madness. IT’S ONLY £66!!! Will be great for summer thrown over a dress. Thanks Me + Em
