What should we all read this summer?

A thread for anyone who can't be bothered to spend 6 hours combing Amazon

This week we’re ditching the Things Worth Knowing interview slot and handing the reins over to YOU.

So..book recommendations. So hard to get right. Do you pack a bunch of stuff that makes you look smart and current on your sun lounger (holidays are not the time for self-improvement I reckon); or do you go wild and branch out into a new genre (thriller/chick-lit- not even sure we’re allowed to call it that anymore tbh) that feels satisfyingly immersive for all of 24 hours, but then lives the rest of its holiday life as a drink’s coaster.

Between us, my husband and I brought, wait for it, 18 books on holiday. We finished just five of them.

So this week, I’d love to know the books, or even podcasts, that you can certifiably recommend as excellent holiday companions for others. I’ll share what we read in the comments below, but would love to see everyone else’s book ideas.
