When you begin an affair there are many things you expect to happen. You expect there will be trysts in the unlikeliest of places - anonymous bars you’d ordinarily never go to, car parks off the beaten track, hotel rooms paid for in cash and booked under different names. You know there will be clandestine texts sent at odd times of the day and that bit by bit your phone will become your lifeline.
But here’s what no one tells you about an affair- not the movies, not magazine articles, not even friends who once upon a time have found themselves in your exact situation.
